World's First Storytelling Approach to Address Peer Bullying Issues.

Evidence-Based Research and Social Contribution

Since 2015, Hans Andersen Club has collaborated with City University of Hong Kong to launch the ‘Read-to-Change Program.’ This program combines the Social Information Processing model with storytelling activities to enhance children’s empathy and emotional management skills while reducing peer bullying. Currently, over 55 primary schools are participating, benefiting more than 3,300 at-risk children and parents.

International and Academic Recognition

The research findings of the program were presented at an international conference in Berlin in 2018 and received the Excellence in Knowledge Transfer Award from City University of Hong Kong in 2022. Additionally, the related academic research was published in the international journal Applied Research Quality of Life in 2023, demonstrating that Hans Andersen Club has gained recognition from the international academic community for its innovative and evidence-based service approaches.

Recent Achievements and Service Expansion

Evidence shows that our ‘Story Intervention Therapy’ has significant effectiveness in cultivating positive emotional management methods among students, effectively reducing aggression triggered by anger. In the future, we will extend our services to kindergarten children, allowing them to benefit at an earlier age.
