  • Service User: Primary school students from low income family
  • Beneficiaries: 1,000pax
  • Sponsor: Li Ka Shing Foundation

Thanks to the overwhelming support provided by Li Ka Shing Foundation, we are going to launch the “ReadEmpowers” program on 10 October. One thousand primary school students will be granted at most $2000 once they finish the given tasks. The program is divided into two terms, and last for one year. Participants can read 30 books online with no extra cost, and will receive the cash scholarship if they submitted more than two book reflections and attended at least one parent workshop. This is a one-year project. The first phase of application has finished.

2nd phase: Landing on Schools

ReadEmpowers invites schools to nominate students from low-income families to join this reading fun. They can be children who like reading; someone who needs to improve their language abilities; or even someone who has little interest in books! By providing the easy-reach online resources, HAC hopes to cultivate lifetime reading habits among students.
