HAC was glad to be a 17 consecutive years nominator of caring company scheme. Last year, HAC were grateful to receive support from 25 company partners. Caring partners made donations of over one million dollars and provided 10,000 volunteer service hours. Our caring partners received the Caring Company Logo by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service on 20 May 2019. The ceremony and exhibition was held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. Our Executive Director, Ms May Wong was honored to share our experience of collaboration with caring companies at the ceremony.
A.S. Watson Group has been supporting us for many years promoting healthy, green life and positive thinking through sports, adventure activities and orienteering games.
Societe Generale has been our long-term partner since 2009. We collaborate to hold large scale activities every year, and our outstanding project “Little Links, Unlimited Dreams” in 2011 even honored theCertificate of Merit – Outstanding Partnership Project Award 2010/11 presented by Hong Kong Council of Social Service.In the previous ten years of collaboration, we organised more than 12 events, served more than 26,000 beneficiaries and volunteers from Societe Generale earned more than 2,000 service hours. Other collaborative projects include Story Tea House (2017), Little Change Makers (2016), The Odyssey Theatre (2015), etc.
NWS Holding has collaborated with us since 2004. Their mature volunteers matched up with our children to provide paired-reading service and mentoring programme "Fairy Volunteer Team", aiming to develop children's reading interest and have a different life. Accentuating a common belief in "knowledge changes destiny", HAC and NWS Holding Limited combined forces and launches a Fairy Kiddo project in 2004. Through a series of reading, writing and stimulating activities, the project aimed at fostering a reading habit in underprivileged children, honing creativity, enhancing language ability and knowledge, and ultimately boosting self-confidence. The project won the "Outstanding partnership Project Award" granted by Hong Kong Council of Social Service in 2007-2008.
Deacons collaborated with HAC in serving children from grassroots families since 2014. Through dramas, stories and interactive discussions we successfully sowed the fundamentals of law in children's minds. In March 2015, Deacons picked up a Citizenship Award at the Asian Lawyer Asia Legal Awards. The awards recognize the best examples of complex, high-stakes legal work and corporate social responsibility in the region. It also won the first runner-up prize in the Best Corporate Volunteer Service Project Competition 2014-16, which was held by the Sub-committee on Promotion of Corporate Volunteering of Social Welfare Department.
